What is A PRX Skin Treatment?

PRX is a proprietary compound consisting of TCA, hydrogen peroxide, and Kojic acid. Unlike other high-percentage TCA peels, the addition of hydrogen peroxide in PRX drastically reduces, and nearly eliminates, common side effects like pain and peeling.

In low concentrations, hydrogen peroxide promotes the healing of skin and remodels your skin’s extracellular matrix, drastically eliminating the pain of conventional TCA peels and regulating any inflammation. The compound’s third main ingredient, Kojic acid, is a depigmenting agent that inhibits post-inflammatory effects in those commonly susceptible.

What Happens During a PRX Treatment?

The first step to a safe, effective, and pain free PRX treatment is a quick facial cleanse, followed by the application of a preparing solution. Next, the PRX compound is applied to your skin utilizing firm pressure. Approximately two to four layers of PRX are applied. Next, the compound is gently rinsed off with water prior to the application of a nutrient rich moisturizer. Since the treatment bypasses the layer of skin known as the epithelium, there’s no pain, and best of all, no peeling!
